Photographers

We have been fortunate to be able to utilize a number of fine photographers to document our horses. We appreciate the contributions of all of them. Most recently, we have used Liz Callar Photography, Bob Langrish Photography (www.boblangrish.com) and Heather Welsh Photography. In the past, we also appreciate the efforts of Photos by Flood (www.wildfirefarm.com).

Riding/Training Team

Halls Choice employees several young riders who work with the horses. In addition, Joan Flester brings her dressage specialty to a number of the talented youngsters. Joan is a lifelong horsewoman who as a teenager qualified her off-the-track thoroughbred for the prestigious Maclay Finals. She competed successfully in the upper levels of eventing, but her main focus now is dressage. A few of the noted instructors she has trained with include Major Anders Lindgren, Mary Flood, Manolo Mendez, and currently Roy Toppings.

Caitlin Fagan got her first pony at the ripe of age of two and has been buying, training and selling horses and ponies ever since. Riding mostly hunters and jumpers, Caitlin has trained with Bim Bradshaw, Peggy Wolfe, Paula Moore and Brian Gruber. With Gruber, she qualified for and competed in the 2006 Gittings Equitation Finals. Riding at Halls Choice brings a new emphasis on dressage, which Caitlin feels will significantly improve her riding overall.

Andi Sweeny has been riding for 9 years. She purchased her first horse a few years ago and has been hooked ever since. She currently owns three horses, including a 6-year-old mare that she started three years ago and is now very successful on the hunter/jumper circuit. Her main focus is on the hunter/jumpers, but since coming to Halls Choice, she has gained greater knowledge and respect for the dressage discipline. Her plan is to become a professional rider and trainer.

Heather Welsh started at Halls Choice in the spring of 2007. While she feeds, grooms and loves on the horses, she is self-described as "definitely the cat girl". Heather sees to it that the many cats that live on the farm are well cared for and loved.

When more intense dressage study is required, Halls Choice utilizes Gold Medalist and USDF Fourth Level Certified instructor Mary Flood. Mary has trained and competed successfully through Grand Prix and competed our own EM Femme Fatale through Prix St. George. You can learn more about Mary by visiting her website, www.wildfirefarm.com.
